During the filming of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, the four main hobbit actors, Elijah Wood (Frodo), Sean Astin (Sam), Dominic Monaghan (Merry), and Billy Boyd (Pippin), had to cry on command for the duration of filming the Grey Havens scene. Filming took 3 days!
